Khachaturian International Festival

Fabulous music by Khachaturian, hundreds of connoisseurs of the classical art and a magic atmosphere - everything lives and breathes with music: welcome to the Khachaturian International Festival!

The only world class and international scale festival in the region, the Khachaturian International Festival was founded in 2013 by conductor Sergey Smbatyan. The latter is also the Artistic Director of the project. Today the Festival certainly ranks equally with many good-standing European festivals; moreover, it is the only project in Armenia, which expands its borders far beyond the country: Italy, Russia, France, and Belgium - several of the numerous countries where the Festival was presented.

Six years in a row, every autumn the brightest stars of the classical music world, to name a few, Krzysztof Penderecki, Alexander Romanovsky, Narek Hakhnazaryan, Karen Shahgaldyan, Mayu Kishima, Maria Domashenko, Ning Feng, Zakhar Bron, Maxim Vengerov and many others, come together in Yerevan to build up a platform for the development and strengthening of international cultural relations, which are the basis of productive dialogue between different nations and the civilized society on the whole.

The Khachaturian Festival is mainly a celebration of classical music, but there is also a special place for jazz and world music. It offers its audience a variety of musical experience: major symphony and chamber concerts - everyone is free to choose the most desirable format.

Along with renowned artists, the Khachaturian Festival provides a platform for a self-expression also to the young talented musicians from all around the world. This creative exchange gives birth to the most innovative and interesting projects for both the artists and the audience.

Year after year, thanks to the series of master-classes presented by the world famous musicians the Khachaturian Festival offers dozens of young musicians the opportunity to reveal the secrets of the music world, to become better, more perfect, to live and win!

Every autumn the Festival welcomes more than 18,000 people. Most of them return year after year.

Distance is no longer a problem! For the first time in Armenia within the framework of the Festival, thanks to the live webcast, its listeners are given an opportunity to follow all the concerts online. Khachaturian International Festival - planet speaks, music translates, and Khachaturian unites!
