June is Pride Month. It is celebrated each year during June for over 50 years to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The whole month is dedicated to the recognition and commemoration of the LGBTQIA+ community.

FemFEST is an all-inclusive festival that aims to increase awareness of women’s rights and promote their contribution to all spheres of life. Organised by BASHART, a non-profit that seeks to unite people through art, FemFEST has evolved from a small event into one of Albania's most significant art events.

The festival promotes emerging artists and cultivates a network of artists and activists engaged in constructive debates and cultural exchanges. By providing a platform for these individuals, FemFEST promotes their artistic talents and encourages meaningful discussions on women's rights and related issues. This combination of artistic expression and dialogue is their tool for raising awareness and fostering social change. Their programme features a diverse range of activities, including theatrical performances, music, exhibitions, installations, and panel discussions.

Merlinka

Merlinka Queer Film Festival 2023

The International Queer Film Festival “Merlinka” has been held annually in Belgrade every December since 2009, organised by the Gay Lesbian Info Centre (GLIC) in cooperation with the Cultural Center Dom Omladine.

The festival aims to promote the gay-lesbian rights and impact reducing homophobia in Serbian society through film art. During the festival days, the audience can experience short, documentary, feature and animated films of various genres created by film authors and students from around the world.

Their next edition will take place in December 2023.

Bergen Pride

Bergen Pride is the second largest pride festival in Norway, with more than 80 events and about 50 000 people participating and attending the annual festival throughout the first week of June. The pride festival organises events such as debates and discussions at Pride House, concerts and club nights at Pride Park, social events all over the city, and the annual parade - attended by 25 000 people in 2019. Bergen Pride is a celebration of love and diversity in which the whole city participates!

Because it is a Pride festival they do not focus on just one type of event. Their programme has everything from music events, comedy shows, debates and discussions, parties, a parade and yes - art exhibits, dance and theatre performances and other events focusing on the arts. Gender Bender Festival

Gender Bender is a multidisciplinary international festival introducing the Italian public to the new imagery related to gender identity, sexual orientation and body representation stemming from contemporary culture. It aims to show that differences can contribute to constructing a more welcoming society from a human, social and cultural point of view.

For twenty years, Gender Bender's programme crosses the entire city and hosts artists from all over the world. You can expect film screenings, dance and theatre performances, visual arts exhibitions and installations, literature meetings and conferences, and night parties.
